Educational outreach and promoting women in science in engineering are two of my passions. I am a founding member of Aggie Aerospace Women in Engineering (AAWE), a homegrown organization for women interested in aerospace engineering at Texas A&M. I served on the Formalization committee that designed the group’s hierarchy, wrote their constitution, and helped the group achieve official recognition as a university student group in Summer 2012. Starting the next fall, in the group’s inaugural year, I served as Chief Coordinator–similar to President–leading the Leadership Core of officers that ran the fledgling organization. It’s been a pleasure over the last twelve months to help AAWE grow from a concept into a full organization with fortnightly events throughout the semester.

Reaching beyond Texas A&M, I am also the author of Fuck Yeah Fluid Dynamics, a science outreach blog which you can learn more about here.
